January, 2015 – New York, NY –Following a two month agency review, CARQUEST Auto Parts has selected Oink Ink Radio to handle creative for its advertising account. The comprehensive shootout included traditional, full service ad agencies as well as Oink Ink, a creative services boutique. CARQUEST serves as an automotive parts retailer servicing both DIY consumers as well as wholesale. Last year CARQUEST was acquired by Advance Auto Parts, the new entity forming the largest auto parts distributor in the country.

Oink will serve as the firm’s advertising partner charged with creating and producing all English- and Spanish-language radio spots. The radio creative will span national, regional and local ad buys, regional agricultural radio networks and college football and professional baseball sponsorships.

CARQUEST cited Oink’s unique expertise in the medium as a key reason for its decision. “We needed to reinvent our approach to communicating with customers, and that’s what Oink and their process delivers,” according to Director of Brand Strategy for Advance Auto Parts, Jeremy Ericson. “Oink’s work is some of the best I’ve ever heard. We went through a rigorous selection process, and Oink emerged as the clear winner.”

Oink Ink Radio has been creating and producing radio commercials since 1991 for both advertising agencies and clients direct. They have won hundreds of industry awards, including One Show Pencils, Cannes Lions, Mercury Radio Awards, CA, Clios, New York Festivals, London International Radio Awards and nearly 100 Promax Awards for their promo work.

Co-founder and president of Oink Ink, Dan Price, says “We have a unique business model that affords us access to the greatest creative writers in the country and beyond, really. It’s an adaptable structure; we maintain relationships with dozens of the very best creatives and each has a unique skill set. And so we handpick a team most appropriate for a given client and assignment.” Each project might employ between 6 to 12 writers to ensure the best work is generated. Creative Direction is handled by brothers Dan & Jim Price.

Since Oink maintains a bicoastal presence it accesses voice talent from both New York and Los Angeles, assuring the best voice is identified for each role in a commercial.

“Radio is not ‘glamorous’, or at least that is how most traditional ad agencies think,” explains Jim Price. “But when radio is the major component of a brand’s media mix, that brand can’t afford for its radio to be only ‘decent’. It needs to work harder and be better.” And that, according to Ericson, is where Oink comes in. “Radio problems are what they like to solve. They are passionate about radio and are committed to doing great work. They understand the value of radio and have already begun creating great radio for CARQUEST.”
